Firepower® Introduces New FP-20A Plasma Cutting System
St. Louis - June 1, 2005 - Firepower® has introduced the new portable and powerful FP-20A Cutting System, a versatile performer for HVAC installations, sheet metal fabrication, metal art and home project applications.
The 44-lb. FP-20A features an inverter power supply that automatically links the unit to primary voltage from 115 to 230 Volts, single phase, 50 or 60 Hz, typically found in most homes and maintenance shops. Highly mobile, it comes equipped with the SL60(TM) 1Torch®, the top-of-the-line Thermal Dynamics® cutting torch designed with performance and reliability in mind. The FP-20A is a member of the new Firepower A-Series Plasma Cutting System family and is fully warranted on repair parts and labor for one year.
Cutting performance of the FP-20A is diverse in its ability to deliver clean cuts on most metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel, copper or brass, with minimum heat input and metal distortion. It quickly cuts through rusted, painted or coated surfaces without prior surface preparation. The FP-20A provides a genuine cut of ¼" (6mm) at 115V and 3/8" (10mm) at 230V.
SL60 1Torch features and benefits include an easy-to-use trigger release and ergonomic handle that provide outstanding operator comfort during long cutting sessions. No tools are required to change the precision-engineered consumable parts. This torch starts without high frequency so it won't interfere with electronic control systems or computers. A SureLok® electrode eliminates tip wobble found in some blow-apart torch designs, resulting in a cleaner arc and longer parts life.
