Florence, SC - ESAB Welding & Cutting Products introduces its new Handy Plasma 550 cutting package. Weighing only 35 lbs., the Handy Plasma 550 is a lightweight, portable cutting package that can travel easily to any job and provides superior cutting performance for a small machine.
The Handy Plasma 550 offers 35 amps of cutting power @40% duty cycle to cut 1/2 inch material and sever 5/8 inch. Output is adjustable to allow the operator to tailor the current for the material to be cut, ensuring better cut quality. With ESAB's power line conditioner, Handy Plasma 550 can operate off auxiliary power sources and handle poor power lines without damage, making it ideal for field use. Handy Plasma 550 comes out of the box ready to go. Simply hook up the air, plug in the machine, and you are ready to cut!
Handy Plasma 550 uses ESAB's PT-31 torch, designed for superior operator comfort, with an extended shape that also provides excellent workpiece visibility. Drag or standoff cutting and a template-following feature that easily duplicates curves or straight lines contribute to the easy operation of these machines. Little or no training is necessary. A high frequency start feature makes starting easy, even on painted surfaces.
