Plantronics Headsets and Nortel Desktop Portfolio Provide Advanced Communication Capabilities for Improved Business Efficiency

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Feb. 5 / -- Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE:PLT) today announced that the Plantronics Voyager(TM) 510 Bluetooth® Headset and Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset System (both S and SL models) were awarded Nortel Compatible Product designation through interoperability testing on various models of Nortel desktop digital or IP phones. The products are the first wireless headsets in the industry to gain such status.

The Plantronics SupraPlus® P251N and P261N corded headsets were also awarded Nortel Compatible Product designation. In addition, Plantronics is now recognized as a Nortel Developer Partner.

Combining Plantronics wireless and wired headsets with Nortel's desktop portfolio provides professionals with a complete solution for smarter, more efficient business communications. Nortel and Plantronics customers can now use a single wireless headset to seamlessly switch between Nortel IP phones and mobile phones with Bluetooth technology -- empowering professionals to multi-task, collaborate more effectively, and extend the virtual workplace whether they are in the office, at home or on the go.

Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset System

The Plantronics Voyager 510(1) is the first headset with Bluetooth wireless technology to include both a noise-canceling microphone and wind- reduction technology for brilliant sound in windy environments. The headset features multipoint technology for easily switching between multiple devices, and can automatically detect which device a person is using, allowing them to take calls from either device with the touch of a button. The Plantronics Voyager 510 can connect directly to Nortel IP Phones that feature an integrated Bluetooth audio gateway, or the Plantronics Voyager 510 Headset System includes a Bluetooth desktop adapter for other Nortel phone models.
