16 mm Planetary Gearmotors for OEM Applications Are Efficient, Quiet, and Low Cost


Santa Clara, CA - Efficient, quiet, low cost, 16 mm planetary gearmotors for OEM applications are now available from Source Engineering, Inc. of Santa Clara, CA. A broad range of motor
windings, gear box housings, gears, number of stages, and gear ratios provide the designer or specifier with a broad performance range to work with. These compact gearmotors are ideal for pick-and-place, medical equipment, office machines, toys, appliances, circuit board testing, robotics, manufacturing, and assembly operations.

The compact DC motor has a speed range of 7 to 3,000 RPM's and when ordered in OEM quantities motor windings can be specified for any voltage required from 1 to 36 Volts. Integrated with the motor is a 16 mm planetary gearhead. These lightweight (1.5 oz.) gearmotors have a torque range of 1 oz-in. to 30 oz-in. and are up to 90% efficient. These 1, 2, 3, and 4 stage gearmotors are available in standard ratios from 3.6:1 to 450:1 and other ratios to match existing requirements can be specified.

In addition to the standard steel housing and gears, nylon gears can be specified. The gearmotor is also available with a nylon housing and gears for applications that will not tolerate excessive noise.
