PREMO Presents an Inductive Planars Set for the Automotive Market

The new inductive planars set of PREMO is an innovative solution for the automotive market that accomplish specific sector standard, AEC Q-200. It is specifically designed for DC/DC converters and traction inverters in hybrid vehicles. It has been developed under a unique vacuum potting technique that allows a high isolation level up to 10kV.

Among its main features, transformers highline its high power management, between 2,5kW and 7,2 kW, in a 5 cm height profile and an less 50cm² room area. Output chokes are designed to process similar powers with a low profile, less 4 cm height and less 30 cm² room area. Its geometry allows that the core connects to the main heat sink and it guarantees an ideal thermal dissipation that increases the component's performance.

Besides, the product has a high efficiency for its hybrid design with laminated structure and litz coil: Rated losses are below 1% of total output power and effects such as skin and proximity have been considerably reduced. PREMO has developed a mechanical fastening system on it in order to improve final assembly structure in front of mechanical stress tests according the most stringent standards. Selected raw materials constitute a high temperature resistant system up to 180ºC.

PREMO has been developing planar transformers for 20 years and covers the widest range in the market from the low power units up to high power ones (10kW). PREMO has one of the best planar tech expert team in the world, based in PREMO Headquarters in Barcelona. Standard PREMO planar transformer group includes more than 50 different types. Special mention to NS-Series for low power applications in the telecommunication market harmonized with National Semiconductor's controllers.

PREMO will show its newest and more innovative products at electronica 2008, visit our stand 318, Hall B6, from 11st until 14th November, 2008 in Munich

Besides, PREMO will shot at SPS/IPC/Drives, from 25th until 27th November, 2008 in Nuremberg, Hall 1, stand 118
