Piping System withstands expansion/compression cycles.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for handling corrosive waste streams, Fuseal® piping system is resistant to corrosive action of alkalis, alcohols, acids, solvents, and salt solutions and will not rust, pit, scale, or be affected by electrolysis. Mechanical joint features EPDM O-Ring seal that accommodates up to 1 in. of expansion/contraction during temperature cycling. Thus, system can be placed in continuous temperature services as high as 180°F and intermittent temperature services up to 210°F.

Re-Designed Fuseal® Mechanical Joint Allows Easier Assembly, Eliminates Leaks and Increases Temperature Range

TUSTIN, Calif. - July 22, 2008 - GF Piping Systems has announced a re-design of their mechanical joint for the popular Fuseal corrosive waste piping system. The new joint features an EPDM O-Ring seal that accommodates system expansion and/or contraction as well as intermittent temperatures up to 210°F. Excellent chemical and physical properties make the Fuseal piping system the best choice for handling corrosive waste streams. Fuseal is resistant to the corrosive action of alkalis, alcohols, acids, solvents and salt solutions. Waste streams which rapidly degrade metallic pipe, such as dilute mineral acids and aqueous acid salts have no affect on the Fuseal system. Fuseal will not rust, pit, scale, corrode or be affected by electrolysis. Fuseal is suitable for use in chemical and industrial plants as well as in hospital and university laboratories where mixtures of acids, bases, and solvents are drained.

The new Fuseal mechanical joint seal provides for up to 1" of expansion or contraction during temperature cycling without losing the seal allowing customers to place it in continuous temperature services as high as 180°F and intermittent temperature services up to 210°F . The 3" & 4" fittings have also been streamlined for shorter lay lengths allowing the fittings to be installed in tighter spaces. MJ components are supplied in kit assemblies to assure fast and easy installation. Fuseal is manufactured from flame retardant polypropylene that meets building code requirements. Fuseal mechanical joint fittings range in size from 1-1/2" to 4". To assure maximum quality, Fuseal is manufactured according to ASTM F1412 and are NSF listed.

"The component kits and smaller lay length fittings really improves the ease of installation" explains Gary Sample, GF Piping Systems Product Manager. "The new seal design has allowed us to remove restrictions on placing the product in un-accessible locations and close to high temperature waste dumps."
