Medit, Inc. Introduces New Stormer S3000 Pipe Inspection Robot with Highly Scalable Design and Advanced Viewing Capabilities

The New Device is a Versatile, High-Performance Viewing Device for Inspecting Wide Range of Pipelines

Today, Medit, Inc. announced immediate availability of the Stormer S3000 Pipe Inspection Robot – advanced, extra durable viewing device with sophisticated optics from English manufacturers.

“We are very pleased to introduce our clients to the new high-quality, versatile device that is easy to transport, assemble and use. Stormer’s highly adjustable, robust design allows you to examine various pipelines up to 250 m (820') long and 1000 mm (40") wide for tiniest defects”, said Terry Peristerakis, Sales Manager at Medit, Inc.

Outstanding Features

Stormer S3000 is an all-in-one device packed with features that enhance inspection experience manifold. The same device can examine pipelines with diameters from 150 to 1000 mm (5.9"-40"). Highly adjustable design allows to attach cameras to the front or top of the crawler, use different sets of wheels and travel as far as 250 m (820') inside the pipeline.

The pipe inspection robot consists of several modules that are easy to set up and transport. The pan-and-tilt camera with super sensitive CMOS image sensor and integrated adjustable LED lights rotates in all directions and allows to examine pipeline interior in detail. It comes in a Stainless steel housing with Aluminum anodized finish, is completely waterproof and withstands up to 5.5 bar pressure.

The insertion cable is a tear and wear-resistant and Kevlar braided that increases its durability and longevity. It comes in 2 lengths: standard 200 m (656'), and optional – 250 m (820') and can be coiled on a sturdy reel with an on-screen depth counter.

The crawler is equipped with two camera mounts: one in the front – to examine pipes of smaller diameters, and one on top to attach camera for inspecting pipes of bigger diameters. Different sets of wheels can be replaced depending on the inspection requirement. All adjustments can be done on site within a short period of time and with minimum effort. The crawler can travel at 5 different speeds without impairing image quality. Optional accessories include inclinometer that sends data on pipe gradient to OSD for display.

The control unit, electronics and convenient silicon rubber controls are packed in a portable, heavy-duty Pelican case. The integrated LED backlit 10.4” TFT flat panel monitor with 800x600 resolution allows to watch live inspection process. Inspection data can be saved to the hard drive or USB stick as MPEG2 files, and additional comments can be put in by means of keyboard preventing users from losing valuable data. The system works with software that is compatible with WinCan.

The power is supplied by 110v or 240v mains or 1KVA generator power inlet.
