Pilgrim Software Announces the Release of SmartSolve® 8.1

Tampa, FL - November 28, 2007 -- Pilgrim Software, Inc., a world-leading provider of Enterprise Compliance and Quality Management (ECQM) software solutions, today announced the availability of SmartSolve 8.1, the latest and most enhanced version of its breakthrough process automation product. The latest version of Pilgrim's SmartSolve, a fully integrated, Web-based solution, offers a record number of enhancements to strengthen its functionality, usability and overall compliance and quality management capabilities.

A primary new enhancement in SmartSolve 8.1 is the addition of eMDR Electronic Submission of Post-Market Medical Device Reports to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The eMDR Electronic Submission capability is part of Pilgrim's SmartComplaints solution that aids medical device manufacturers with the recording, processing, investigation and resolution of a complaint or Adverse Event, including the submission of regulatory reports to the FDA, EMEA, Canada, Japan and Australia.

"With functionality built into SmartSolve 8.1 for direct electronic reporting to the FDA and its worldwide counterparts, medical device customers will reduce overall reporting errors and timing to better support the industry's and regulatory bodies' commitment to product safety and vigilance and cost reduction," said Nikki Willett, Pilgrim's Vice President of Marketing and Regulatory Products.

SmartSolve 8.1 provides for enhanced searching, configuration and data retrieval tools. Advanced searching, which prior to this version was more of a business analyst domain, has now been further simplified such that end users can use this powerful new feature. SmartSolve 8.1 also features SmartTailoring(TM) tools, which places new capabilities for tailoring SmartSolve applications directly into the hands of administrators and business coordinators to create the environment needed for their end users. SmartTailoring tools easily allow a customer to personalize a SmartSolve solution for their needs; minimizes change control by providing application-driven changes controlled by security, signatures and audit trail; and, protects such changes providing easier maintenance in a centralized deployment.

Through input from its customers, Pilgrim has updated SmartSolve 8.1 to feature new aesthetics and end-user enhancements focused on usability and increased productivity. In particular, the SmartDoc end-user searching function now allows customers to configure an unlimited number of new taxonomies, and it brings the latest concepts of document retrieval techniques into the forefront.

"SmartSolve 8.1 includes advancements in its technology and functionality based on recommendations from Pilgrim customers to better meet their growing systems management needs in today's increasingly competitive and stringently regulated marketplace," said Atulya Risal, Pilgrim's Chief Technology Officer. "The new features and enhancements allow SmartSolve customers to better address their core process automation requirements and expedite their core processes while remaining fully compliant with industry regulations and manufacturing the highest quality products."

SmartSolve 8.1 includes enhancements to SmartDoc, SmartCAPA, SmartComplaints, SmartAudit and SmartTrain solutions.
