Piezoelectric Pumps handle liquid and gas applications.

Press Release Summary:

Utilizing piezoelectric crystals formed and bonded to metal diaphragm, miniature pump models DTI-200-12P and DTI-200-12A have design that eliminates electromagnetic noise. They deliver flow rates of 0-200 ml/min (water) or 0-7.5 scfh (air) and pressures to 12.5 psi. Fluid delivery rates are manipulated by varying amplitude and frequency of power supply. Model DTI-200-12.5P features polycarbonate pump housing, while DTI-200-12A has aluminum pump housing.

New Piezoelectric Pump Solves the Problems of Size, Power Consumption, Noise and Reliability

Hudson, MA-Clark, worldwide representatives for Deak Technologies. Inc. announces new models DTI-200-12P and DTI-200-12A Miniature Piezoelectric Pumps. The pumps feature cutting edge technology that solves the problems of size, power consumption, noise, and reliability for a wide range of liquid and gas pumping applications. Utilizing piezoelectric crystals formed and bonded to a metal diaphragm, these pumps operate when the bonded crystals are stressed and distorted by an electric field, causing the diaphragm to flex. Two opposing umbrella type check valves respond to this "flexing" of the diaphragm, creating a pumping action. This unique design eliminates electromagnetic noise as a factor because there are no electric motors. Delivering flow rates of 0 to 200 ml/min. (water) or 0 to 7.5 SCFH (air) and pressures up to 12.5 psi, DTI-200-12P and DTI-200-12A Miniature Piezoelectric Pumps have a standard pump life of 10,000 hours. Additional pump life (up to 50,000 hours) is possible by utilizing an optional diaphragm design. DTI-200-12P and DTI-200-12A Miniature Piezoelectric Pumps are very quiet and consume only 150 milliwatts of power. Fluid delivery rates are manipulated by varying the amplitude and frequency of the power supply. Proprietary driver circuits further minimize power consumption and maximize efficiency and response times. The DTI-200-12.5P features a polycarbonate pump housing and the DTI-200-12A Miniature Piezoelectric Pump has an aluminum pump housing. These small pumps measure 1.7 inches in diameter (2.5" with mounting flange) and 1 inch in height.

DTI-200-12P and DTI-200-12A Miniature Piezoelectric Pumps are extremely well suited for both portable and fixed cooling applications, ranging from circulating water in space craft to transporting coolant through the jackets worn by fire fighters to cooling CPU's in portable and desktop computers to dispensing, dosing, and metering applications.
