Picking Device lifts products without surface contact.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for lifting applications that require sensitive handling, Non Contact Transfer (NCT) operates by Bernoulli principle, which applies airflow under device to create vacuum and lift force between center and circumference. Due to dynamic vacuum and continuous flow, lifted object does not attach to NCT surface, enabling handling of delicate items. NCT series is available in 4 sizes and various designs with lift capacities up to 1.3 lb.

Rexroth Non Contact Transfer Picking Device Lifts Products Without Surface Contact

New product from the Pneumatics business unit of the Bosch Rexroth Corporation solves complicated lifting applications that require sensitive handling.

The Non Contact Transfer (NCT) is a unique picking device that operates by the Bernoulli principle, which applies airflow under the device to create a vacuum and lift force between the center and the circumference.

Because of the dynamic vacuum and continuous flow, the lifted object does not attach to the NCT surface, thus enabling the handling of delicate items. The new device is ideal for applications where vacuum technology with suction cups is not feasible because good contact cannot be made with an object's surface. Other application examples include handling electronic circuit boards and other objects with perforations, objects with rough surfaces, or soft objects such as paper and plastic bags. The NCT can also be applied to pneumatics in highly specialized tasks, for example, small material handling and automation without surface contact.

The NCT series is available in four sizes and a variety of designs accommodating lift capacities up to 0.6 kg (approx. 1.3 lbs.).
