Schneider Electric Announces OsiSense XUBT1(TM)

Schneider Electric releases new photo-electric sensor for the detection of transparent materials

Palatine, Ill. , - Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, today announced the new OsiSense XUBT1(TM), a photo-electric sensor specifically designed for machine manufacturers in the packaging and bottling industries. The sensor is fully adaptable for many classic bottling applications and enables manufacturers to detect transparent materials such as PET bottles, translucent wrapping film and colored glass.

With the launch of the XUBT1, Schneider Electric is offering ready-to-use sensing equipment that is easy to install and well-suited for use in conveying applications as well as flow and jamming detection in food and beverage packaging. The 18mm diameter sensor operates in conjunction with a reflector and is easily mounted on the production line using a bracket. A very simple-to-use teach mode is incorporated in the sensor and a single press on the "Teach" button optimizes the detection parameters, while three LEDs on the rear of the sensor help to simplify maintenance.

The XUBT1 features a sensing distance of 0.8m with reflector XUZ and is easy to install with a M12 connection or standard cable. It is also easy to set up with only one teach function to learn the reflector and is CE, UL and CSA certified. The sensor is the latest addition in the XUB product range, which also includes the XUBT and XUKT sensors, and is suitable for applications with the most commonly used materials.
