Sipex's New Photo Detector IC Sets Performance Benchmarks
The SP8051 fully integrated PDIC features 140MHz bandwidth and industry-leading 70dB noise immunity
(Milpitas, CA - April 29, 2003) - Sipex Corporation (NASDAQ: SIPX) today announced its highest performing Photo Detector Integrated Circuit (PDIC), the SP8051. Specially designed to meet the most demanding requirements of next generation writeable DVD and CD drives, the SP8051 offers 4 high-speed data detection channels and 4 additional tracking channels. This advanced device features slew rates of 350V per microsecond and offers 70db PSRR with less than 5mV of differential offset between the channels.
With three selectable gain settings and two differential data summing outputs, the product enables the flexibility to adjust to various media types and provides large output swings for faster signal detection. The PDIC is manufactured on Sipex's innovative 10GHz BiCMOS process which allows for extremely efficient integration of the photo diode and superior analog circuits.
