Original Press Release:

Managed Switch for Diverse Networks

Middletown, Pa. - Phoenix Contact's new FL SWITCH 2000 line bridges the gap between simple unmanaged switches and complex managed devices. The switches in the 2000 line feature easy configuration, remote monitoring, and advanced communications options at an affordable price point.

As machine networks become more complex, unmanaged switches do not offer higher-level features to meet new requirements. The 2000/2100 series gives machine builders an affordable switch with multicast filter functions and redundancy mechanisms to reduce the data load in the network and maintain communications even in the event of a Layer 1 failure. The devices can be configured via an SD card, a Command Line Interface (CLI), or the smart mode button located on the device.

The 2200/2300 series is designed for more complex automation applications in harsh conditions, such as process, marine, infrastructure, and wind energy. The switches feature a higher-function firmware, an extended temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, configurable alarm contact, and redundant power inputs. The switches can be used in Ex Zone 2 according to ATEX and IECEx. They also have shipbuilding approvals DNV GL, ABS, LR, BV, and RINA.

The 2000 switches feature key functions for PROFINET and EtherNet/IP applications, and are available in Gigabit variants for applications that demand high data throughput. Learn more at: www.phoenixcontact.com/2000.
