Philadelphia Scientific's Battery Watering Monitor Classified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. as Electrical Accessory for Industrial Trucks
Blinky(tm) Battery Watering Monitor is first such product to be Classified for this use by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.
MONTGOMERYVILLE, Pa., November 18, 2005 - Philadelphia Scientific, a leading international manufacturer of industrial battery components, accessories and tools, announced today that its Blinky(tm) Battery Watering Monitor has been Classified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) as an electrical accessory for use in industrial trucks. To become UL Classified, certain properties of the newly redesigned Blinky product were inspected, tested and classified against stringent safety standards and met or exceeded all requirements. The Blinky is the only battery watering monitor to be UL Classified as an electrical accessory for use in industrial trucks. Any UL Classified battery equipped with a watering monitor is required to use a UL Classified monitor.
The Blinky monitors battery cell water levels and an indicator light automatically changes from a blinking green pulse when sufficiently watered, to a constant green light when the battery needs water. Designed to fit even the smallest cells, the Blinky offers the largest and brightest indicator light available on any battery electrolyte monitor. The Blinky also features flame retardant plastic in part of the housing and its materials thoroughly resist corrosion from sulfuric acid.
