ACG Launches New Flame-Retarded Rail, Construction and Industrial Material
ACG, part of the Composites Division of Umeco plc, announces the launch of MTM®82S-C, an outstanding fire performance phenolic resin system available as a prepreg suitable for mass transit, industrial, and construction applications.
MTM82S-C offers excellent mechanical properties in combination with exceptional fire performance, where the operating temperature is within the range -55 to 80°C (-67 to 176°F). Under fire conditions, MTM82S-C laminates exhibit extremely low fire propagation and surface spread of flames together with low smoke and toxic gas emission, meeting the requirements of: British Standards BS 476 Part 6 and 7, and BS 6853 Cat 1a; French Standards NF P 92-501 Rating M1 and NF F 16-101 Rating F1; and German DIN5510 Ratings S2, SR2 and ST2.
ACG's MTM82S-C is available for use with a wide range of carbon and glass fibre materials, and is suitable for both monolithic and sandwich structures.
