PESA Spotlights Cheetah Flex Hybrid Routing Solution, NewTek Integration at IBC2015

Huntsville, Alabama – PESA, a leading designer and manufacturer of streaming, routing, and AV integration products, will demonstrate its new Cheetah Flex hybrid routing environment and integrated NewTek routing solution at IBC2015 (Stand 8.E47), which runs Sept. 11-15 at Amsterdam RAI.

The cornerstone of PESA’s integrated routing platform, Cheetah Flex supports up to 4K resolution and creates a seamless solution for baseband and IP-based video and audio sources. The new PESA Blade System (PBS), which houses up to 10 H.264 encoding/decoding cards in the 2 RU Ross openGear® chassis, is installed directly into a Cheetah digital video router frame adjacent to traditional baseband routing hardware.

Based on the popular PESA Xstream C22 compact streaming appliance, the C22-PBS card supports RTSP and RTMP streams, while the C22-PBS-T supports MPEG transport streams. Both cards can be configured as a two-port video encoder, two-port decoder, or include one of each. Other features include HDMI® I/O ports, an OLED display of the card’s IP address for easy configuration, and the ability to sync up to two external audio sources to either or both video streams during an event. The customizable Cheetah Flex solution is managed by PESA’s Cattrax control software.

“PESA built its reputation on world-class baseband routing, and over the past few years we’ve added multi-channel video streaming to our core technologies,” said John T. Wright, senior vice president of sales and business development. “Our new Cheetah Flex solution creates a seamless hybrid routing environment for broadcast stations and other facilities that works with a combination of traditional and IP-based signals. From small scale to enterprise-level installations, we support all your sources through any connector.”

Designed for use with multi-camera video production systems, the new PESA Xstream R3232 router integrates with NewTek’s TriCaster Advanced Edition to offer 32 3G-SDI I/O, which significantly expands TriCaster’s access to video sources. All professional grade TriCaster systems can control the new R3232 router from the TriCaster GUI through NewTek’s native support for PESA’s P1N router control protocol. Plus, all of TriCaster’s SDI outputs can be connected as sources through the R3232 and routed to multiple downstream devices. The TriCaster also works with the C22 to include streaming video in live productions.
