Peoplesafe Service Enhanced with New Man-Down Alert

LONDON, July 9/ -- Peoplesafe, the leading lone worker protection service from Rocksure
Systems is now available with an enhanced level of Man-Down protection.

Man-Down describes a situation when the wearer of the Peoplesafe device - which resembles a standard ID badge holder worn around the neck or on a belt clip - is incapacitated, after a fall or medical emergency.

The new technology which drives the Man-Down facility consists of accelerometers inside the device which measure g-forces. This information assesses the wearer's movements. If, for example, the user should jump or fall and then walk away, nothing happens but if the wearer falls and then remains motionless the device becomes active. It will first vibrate to provoke a response from the user; if no action is taken it will switch into Peoplesafe's proven red alert mode.

The device also has a tilt sensor, which can detect the wearer falling or becoming ill even when the accelerometers might not be triggered. The level of tilt, the time motionless and all other parameters are fully adjustable when the device is configured for the individual user.

"This latest enhancement of the Peoplesafe service offers a wide array of protection, alert and location capabilities for lone workers in every conceivable role," says Martin Rodgers, Director Rocksure Systems.

The Man-Down protection is in addition to all the standard features of the Peoplesafe device. Via the mobile phone networks it covertly offers the facility to check-in and check-out for lone workers, low threat protection, live audio monitoring for evidence of verbal abuse or threatening behaviour and a full red alert escalation up to and including police attendance. The device offers lone worker protection, via its two-tier alerts, worker location facility and escalation procedures which call in the emergency services as required.
