Elisra's SPLB-M to be Introduced at the SAFE 2010 Exhibition in San Diego
The new Over-the-Horizon, Ruggedized COSPAS-SARSAT SPLB-M provides an advanced, feature-rich alternative to aging devices
San Diego, California, USA, - Elisra, a global leader in EW, Intelligence, and Communications systems, today announced it would introduce its SPLB-M Personal Locator Beacon at the SAFE 2010 exhibition, opening November 8 at San Diego's Town & Country Convention Center.
The metal-encased, ruggedized SPLB-M is based on the already-fielded SPLB commercial version, which is currently competing for large non-combat SAR contracts in several countries.
According to Avi Peleg, Senior Director of Marketing & Sales at Elisra's Communications & Datalinks Division, "The advanced, ruggedized SPLB-M is offered as a successor to and replacement for the aging AN/PRC-90 that is still fielded by the USAF and many other Armed Forces.
