Pencil Probe Linear Position Sensors for Metrology and Dimensional Gauging

Moorestown, New Jersey – H G. Schaevitz LLC, Alliance Sensors Group is pleased to announce it has released a line of spring-extend AC-LVDT based dimensional gauging probes (aka pencil probes) for QC metrology, X-Y tables, and automotive/medical/aerospace test stands. These dimensional gauging probes are regularly used with Gage R&R and CpK data collection to insure quality and for use with six-sigma QA programs.

With three ranges available from stock featuring submicron resolution and repeatability, the DGP LVDT probes are manufactured with the highest quality precision ground bearings. DGP probes come standard with an 8 mm diameter plain outer body, with an optional sleeve available to increase the OD to 0.375 inches, either plain or partly threaded. The 2 m long axial shielded cable is strain relieved and can be quickly converted to a radial cable outlet with a right angle cable adapter that is included with a probe.

DGP Features:

• 3 ranges: ±0.5 mm, ±1.0 mm, and ±2.5 mm

• Better that 0.5 micron repeatability and resolution

• Operating temperature range -10 to 65C

• 8 mm outer diameter body-optional 0.375 inch OD sleeve available

• Adjustable pre-travel

• 2 m strain relieved axial shielded cable with radial adapter

Alliance Sensors Group also offers the SC-100 LVDT signal conditioner module for use with the DGP probes. The SC-100 is push button calibrated and has the proper excitation voltage and frequency to use the DGP probes as they were designed and calibrated.
