The SmartMonitoring suite offers a range of service levels along with additional features to choose from. The service levels are each comprised of a combination of full OS monitoring, application/database instance monitoring, URL monitoring, and TCP-port monitoring, tracking pre-determined and customized metrics for a given instance determined by the user. These services are completely automated and send instant alerts when a set threshold is exceeded or an event is detected.
In addition to standard monitoring levels, SmartMonitoring offers a range of customizable features including:
- WebWalk(TM): Provides the ability to experience the end-user
perspective from any online location, including speed of page access
or transaction time, and validating links or page and database
content, using synthetic transactions to measure application
performance.
- StressWalk(TM): This feature puts the system through its paces by
providing traffic stress exercises and predictions of how the web-
based services will perform. This simulation process delivers
excellent data and metrics to support important infrastructure
decisions.
Using the SmartMonitoring platform interface, these services and features can be configured on-demand for individual servers. SmartMonitoring provides a comprehensive library of metric "templates", providing full control over the instrumentation and data collection of performance metrics.
