Eaton's Advanced Monitored ePDU Products Allow IT Managers to Track Power Consumption at the Receptacle Level

RALEIGH, N.C.... Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced the availability of its Advanced Monitored ePDU® products, adding to its full line of enclosure power distribution technologies. Eaton's Advanced Monitored ePDU products provide Information Technology (IT) managers the ability to monitor, track and manage power consumption at the receptacle level for all equipment in the data center. The data captured can be used to evaluate energy efficiency and infrastructure capacity. Skyrocketing energy costs, growth restrictions in data centers and ongoing pressure to maximize energy efficiency and reduce power consumption are key issues facing today's IT managers. In order to contribute to an overall energy management strategy, accurate, real-time information on power usage is essential for making decisions in the data center. Eaton's Advanced Monitored function is specifically designed to measure power consumption at the equipment level. Each individual receptacle is enabled with an advanced current measurement device providing real-time current data via a local display or through a network connection.
