Vitrium Systems Releases Latest Update of Protectedpdf - The World's Easiest PDF Protection Solution

VANCOUVER - Vitrium Systems, a leading technology vendor in smart document technology, has just announced the release of the latest version of protectedpdf - the world's easiest PDF protection solution. Protectedpdf is available both as a Software as a Service (SaaS) application, and as an on-premise Enterprise installation. This latest version extends the customizable features of the Enterprise version to support web-portal authorization to documents and transparent watermarking, as well as a routine security update for both Small Business and Enterprise editions.

Protectedpdf Enterprise customers using web-services now have the ability to program a customizable feature into their application to support authorized access to protectedpdf documents hosted on web-portals for their end-users. Once an end-user is signed into the web-portal using appropriate credentials provided by the portal owner, they can access all protectedpdf documents without having to unlock each one individually. Since the protectedpdf technology stays with the document, once downloaded off of the web-portal, the document will be in its locked state again and will require authorized credentials to be opened.

Another new web-services feature available to Enterprise customers using web-services also now have the ability to customize their application is to place transparent watermarks on their PDF documents when they are viewed onscreen or printed. Previously, the watermarking facility in protectedpdf placed watermarks on top of the PDF text, and could only be placed in the margins of the document. With the new transparent watermark capability, users can place watermarks within the body of the PDF, with the watermark behind the text.

The security update for both protectedpdf Small Business and Enterprise editions is a routine and ongoing effort to ensure that protectedpdf documents are as secure as possible, while continuing to provide unparalleled ease of use for both the protectedpdf customer and PDF user.

With protectedpdf, users can:

- Electronically distribute published content while maintaining control over intellectual property

- Deter unwanted distribution of published content

- Capture valuable tracking about who is accessing content to improve content protection

- Control access to content even after document distribution
