Original Press Release:

Titan IC Systems Ltd. Launches 100Gb/s PCIe L2 - L7 Processing Platform

Interop 2012, LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Titan IC Systems has developed a unique capability, offering a flexible yet high-performance solution for L2-L7 processing, for the security appliances market. This is comprised of a stateful classification, flow statistics and RegEx-based content processor at 100Gb/s. Titan's L2-L7 Processing product - Themis - has been significantly optimized to take full advantage of Altera's latest 28 nm high-performance Stratix® V FPGAs.

"This is a very important milestone for Titan IC Systems," said Sakir Sezer, CTO of Titan IC Systems. "After a period of intense product development, we are delighted to be able to offer a unique solution to the real, complex problem of performing L2 - L7 network processing at 100Gb/s on an FPGA fabric."

Themis provides the ability to perform stateful IP flow classification, flow state tracking and complex regular expression processing in hardware on an FPGA fabric. The architecture is comprised of a highly parallel data-path with 10,000Gb/s of internal and over 1,000Gb/s of external memory bandwidth, customized for highly data centric search and lookup functions for TCP/IP header lookup, deep packet and deep flow inspection (DPI/DFI).

Themis is unique since it offers complete flexibility to the customer as a low-cost, easy to integrate PCIe network processing platform, while providing a rich portfolio of configurable custom-purpose network processing functions. A comprehensive set of API functions allows the user transparent access to DPI results, descriptors, IP flow statistics and entire packets and IP flows from a user application software, without the need for hardware or FPGA design.

"The combination of an Altera FPGA with high-performance complex network and security processing is well suited to the continuously changing requirements of the high-end network processing market", said Dan Mansur, director of Altera's wireline communications business unit. "Leveraging the latest generation of high-performance 28-nm FPGA, Themis is able to acheive extremely high speeds, while offering scalability to be optimized for various market requirements."

Titan IC Systems will be demonstrated at the Interop trade show in Las Vegas on 8-10th May 2012. Visit the Titan IC Systems booth (1862).
