PCI Mezzanine Card is suited for caution/warning systems.

Press Release Summary:

PMC-PIO provides 64 channels of 3.3 V parallel I/O, each of which is independently programmable as input or output channel. Bi-directional I/O signals are TTL- and CMOS-compatible and voltage-protected. Unit interfaces to 33 MHz, 32-bit PCI bus through P1 and P2 connectors and enables 16 bits of I/O, configured as input, to be used to generate interrupt on change of state. Product is offered in 3 environmental versions.

Thales Computers Introduces PMC-PIO, A New 64-Channel Parallel I/O PMC Interface Card

Raleigh, NC, April 2003 - Thales Computers, a leader in providing PowerPC and Pentium-based VME computing solutions to OEMs and system integrators, has introduced a new 64-channel parallel I/O PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC). The PMC-PIO is ideal for demanding I/O applications including ground support equipment, equipment health monitoring, and caution/warning systems.

PRODUCT DETAILS
The PMC-PIO provides 64 channels of 3.3V (5V-compatible) parallel I/O, each of which can be independently programmed as an input or output channel. The bi-directional I/O signals are TTL- and CMOS-compatible and voltage-protected. The PMC-PIO interfaces to a 33 MHz, 32-bit PCI bus through standard P1 and P2 connectors.

The new PMC enables 16 bits of I/O, configured as input, to be used to generate an interrupt on change of state. The edge-triggered change of state can be configured for activation on either a rising or falling edge. The PMC-PIO can function as a standard PMC I/O board or as a test card for a PMC site when the card is in test mode. The user can toggle each of the PCI interrupt pins by writing to a 4-bit register.

The new PMC-PIO is available in three environmental versions: convection-cooled industrial, convection-cooled rugged, and conduction-cooled militarized. On the convection-cooled versions, I/O is routed to a 68-pin front-panel connector, while the conduction-cooled version routes I/O to the PMC J4 connector.

The new card can also be modified by Thales Computers for use in specific applications.

Pricing for the PMC-PIO starts at $795 and is available immediately.
