PCD Interface Modules provide in-line fusing capability.

Press Release Summary:

In-line fusing module provides fusing and blown fuse indication for every circuit in distributed I/O systems. Consisting of board-mounted fuse and indicator elements housed in mounting system, module secures to DIN track. It connects to system I/O connector through board-mounted terminal blocks on interface module through multi-pin electronic connector (D-sub, ribbon cable, RJ style, Centronic, or DIN) or through pre-wire plug harness.

Original Press Release:

PCD Interface Modules Provide In-Line Fusing Capability

(Peabody, MA) PCD Inc. has introduced a range of interface modules designed to expand existing industrial controller terminal block I/O systems by introducing an in-line fusing module which provides both fusing and blown fuse indication for every circuit in a distributed I/O system.

The module consists of board-mounted fuse and indicator elements housed in a mounting system which secures to a standard DIN track. Depending on application, it can connect to the system I/O connector through board-mounted terminal blocks on the interface module, through a multi-pin electronic connector - D-sub, ribbon cable, RJ style, Centronic or Din - or through a pre-wire plug harness supplied as an integral element of the module.

A broad range of other interface module variations, often incorporating active or passive electronic components, are also available from PCD. Since these modules often function in industrial applications as the system I/O port through which an end user interconnects manufacturing equipment and control/monitoring devices, many are customized in accordance with customer performance and appearance requirements. Circuitry, interconnect provisions and capabilities, electronic devices, mounting provisions and housing color are typical features which are customized to suit a particular application.

Delivery is dependent on the degree of customization required, but lead times average eight to twelve weeks from concept to production, assuming there are no availability problems on customer-specified components. Prototypes are available within much shorter time frames.

PCD is North America's largest independent designer and manufacturer of PC terminal blocks and related interconnect devices.
