Samtec Product Preview-Razor Beam(TM) SS4/ST4 Series
Samtec now has available a new interconnect system, our Razor Beam(TM) connectors. These ultra fine pitch, low profile, high speed strip connectors save real estate on the PC board and are also rugged due to their unique contact design. Undercut retention notches click when the contacts engage which also increases the withdrawal force of these connectors. Performance is expected to be up to 7.0 GHz in a single-ended configuration.
The SS4/ST4 Series is on .4mm pitch and features a stack height of 4mm with 5mm and 6mm elevated versions scheduled for a May 2009 release. For rugged applications, a latching feature is in design with a May 2009 estimated release. Razor Beam(TM) connectors are also available on.635mm pitch (LSS Series) as well as .5mm (LSHM Series). The LSS Series features rugged friction locks.
