New LCD provides low-cost integrated PCAP solution
Chino, CA – Tianma NLT USA has introduced a new 7.0-inch diagonal TFT LCD module that includes an integrated projective capacitive (PCAP) touch panel at a lower cost than other PCAP displays of the same size and resolution. The new module provides a cost-effective 7-inch WVGA PCAP touch panel display featuring the increased durability, smooth operator interface, multi-touch functionality and clear image quality needed for industrial, commercial, medical and other applications.
Frequently, the primary human interface with a display is touch rather than using a keyboard or mouse. This trend is quickly being adopted not just in consumer display and electronic applications, but also in industrial and medical applications. The new module provides a simple, straightforward migration to the functionality of PCAP technology without the high expense.
The new LCD (P/N TM070RVHG50-00) utilizes a-Si (amorphous silicon) and GF (glass film) technology to provide an integrated capacitive touch solution. It offers users the capability of designing their products using a display with a factory-integrated PCAP touch panel, with a factory warranty, but without incurring the high cost typically associated with this technology.
Applications include industrial controllers, test and measurement equipment, home automation, security panels and medical displays.
The new 7.0-inch TFT module with integrated PCAP touch panel is targeted for mass production in early Q1 2016; samples are available in December 2015.
