PC Pumps feature high pressure universal joints.

Press Release Summary:

With universal joints rated to 360 psig, Progressive Cavity Pumps can be used on applications with high suction heads, low NPSHA applications with reverse rotation, or in vertical pumps where joints are exposed to rated discharge pressure of pumps. Hydraulically balanced joints are reinforced against implosion from high pressures, positively sealed with elastomer cover and 2 holding bands, and lubricated with high-temperature grease.

PC Pump with High Pressure Universal Joint

seepex progressive cavity pump universal joints are now available with ratings to 360 psig. This allows the pumps to be used on applications with high suction heads, low NPSHA applications with reverse rotation (common in vacuum condensation or suction lift applications) or in vertical pumps where the joints are exposed to the rated discharge pressure of the pumps. A new proprietary technology allows the joints to be hydraulically balanced and reinforced against implosion from high pressures.

The joints are long lasting because they are positively sealed with an elastomer cover and two holding bands and lubricated with high temperature grease especially formulated for this service. The joints are easily inspected or serviced. Each joint uses a hardened pin and bushings which can be replaced in minutes, with minimal manpower, at a fraction of the cost of replacing the rotor or drive shaft, as is common with other designs.

A stainless steel cover is also available to ensure U-joint integrity. With this cover to protect the rubber cover from damage by tramp metal or other contaminants, the joint carries an unconditional 10,000-hour guarantee.
