VersaLogic Announces Celeron PC/104-Plus Embedded Computer for Extended Temperature Applications

Eugene, OR - VersaLogic Corp. today announced the availability of a new PC/104-Plus module designed specifically for higher-end applications requiring extended temperature operation. This addition to VersaLogic's new Jaguar line of embedded processors is rated for operation over the full -40°C to +85°C temperature range. The board's small size (3.9" x 3.7"), high performance, and wide temperature tolerance, make it ideal for a wide range of embedded applications where reliability is critical.

The extended temperature Jaguar board is based on an Intel Celeron CPU running at 350 MHz. Features include 10/100 Ethernet, AGP video/flat panel support, industrial I/O, and DiskOnChip support. Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) provide ESD protection on the I/O ports, reducing the risk of electrostatic damage. Few boards in the embedded market offer this kind of protection.

The Jaguar is appropriate for transportation, automation, medical, aerospace, and other high-reliability or harsh environment applications. It is designed for embedded systems requiring long-term product availability and extreme reliability.

System designers choose VersaLogic boards such as the Jaguar for their high-reliability features like latching I/O connectors, watchdog timer, voltage sensing reset circuit, industrial long-life battery, and self-resetting fuses for keyboard and mouse power. The board's versatile BIOS has customizable embedded features for OEMs and reconfigurable defaults. Standardized components sourced from multiple vendors increase product longevity and reduce problems with obsolescence and upgrades. VersaLogic targets a minimum availability of five years for all of its embedded OEM products.

The extended temperature Jaguar board is currently available from stock. Pricing is $1097 in OEM quantities. For additional information contact VersaLogic Corp. at (800) 824-3163 or info@versalogic.com, or visit the on-line catalog at www.versalogic.com.

This board will be on display April 23-25 at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center, at VersaLogic's booth #1533.
