Bohemia NY -- North Atlantic Industries (NAI) has announced the availability of a 6-channel LVDT/RVDT-to-Digital Converter on a PC-104 card. The DSP-based 73LD4 includes 6 independent, isolated, programmable LVDT/RVDT tracking converter measurement channels. Each channel has 16-bit resolution, 0.025% full scale accuracy, tracking rate to 150 strokes/sec, accurate digital velocity output, incremental encoder (A+B) outputs, and wrap-around self-test. The unit requires a single +5Vdc power supply, operates over a frequency range of 360 Hz to 10 KHz, and has an autoranging input range from 2 Vrms to 28 Vrms. Additionally, each unit includes 16 programmable TTL digital input/output channels, a latch feature for reading all measurement channels simultaneously, and an optional programmable excitation reference supply.
The 73LD4 provides continuous background Built-In-Test (BIT) on all channels, including reference and signal loss detection. The BIT is totally transparent to the user, requires no programming, and doesn't interfere with the normal operation of the card. Each LVDT/RVDT-to-Digital Converter channel is self-calibrating, without requiring removal of the card. The 73LD4 PC-104 card is ideally suited for military and commercial programs, including airborne, shipboard, ground mobile and C3I applications.
The 73LD4 is available with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C. Pricing for 100 pieces of the 73LD4 starts at $1285 each. Delivery starts at 12 weeks ARO.
