Red Wing Software Announces Release Date and New Version Enhancements for Red Wing Payroll 8.0
Red Wing, MN - September 2, 2003 - Red Wing Software, Inc. announced today that a new version of Red Wing Payroll will be released October 27, 2003 with a wide range of enhancements, including an optional alternate-language pay stub, direct access to online support services, and a comprehensive Vacation/Sick Leave Wizard.
"The new alternate-language check stub option makes sense for our niche in agriculture, says Tom Balow, Red Wing Sales Consultant. "Now employers of non-English speaking workers can rest assured that all employees understand their payroll information. The alternate-language check stub is set up through a simple text substitution process, and can handle any number of languages," Balow concludes.
The new Red Wing Payroll will also include added Web technology to expand customers' ability to communicate with Red Wing support staff and other Red Wing Payroll users. A new feature allows users to request a technical support call directly from their Payroll system. The Enter Support Call option launches a Web page that allows a user to enter a subject, question, and other information. The process logs a support call for response via e-mail or telephone during business hours. A user can also enter the Online Red Wing Community Forum by using the Enter Forum menu selection on the Help menu. The forum is designed as a help tool for Payroll users to correspond with their peers.
The Vacation/Sick Leave Wizard will simplify the set-up process for vacation/sick leave tables by walking the user through a series of questions. The Wizard includes set up of the employee information needed to track and report the vacation/sick time used.
The Aatrix interface has been updated to use the latest State Wage Reporting forms for all 50 states. These state reports can also all be E-filed for those employers who are required, because of number of employees, to file electronically.
Other features being added include an expanded customizable employee list report that includes earnings and deduction amounts; improved security, new 940 and 940EZ reports in the TaxForms software; a new 401(k) report that shows employee deductions and employer contributions; and advanced functionality for one-time paper check processing. This feature is especially useful for paying a bonus with a paper check when all other payrolls are direct deposited.
Overall ease-of-use will also be addressed with a number of customer-suggested usability changes in various entry forms.
