Model 605 Payout for Traverse Wound Reels

PROGRESSIVE MACHINE CO INC introduces our Model "605" Rim Drive for the payout of traverse wound wire and strip from reels weighing up to 1250 lbs. The "605" maintains a consistent line height and permits flexibility in stock orientation by allowing material to be paid out from either the top or the bottom of the reel.

The 605 offers a choice of three speed and tension control devices. It features a standard dancer system for loop control, a patented articulated dancer system for intermittent feed applications that cause excessive drive surges, and Progressive's TELESENSOR is available to eliminate back tension in the payout through non-contact, ultrasonic loop control. Each of these systems will automatically monitor and compensate for the payout reel's decreasing diameter while maintaining a constant line speed.

Additionally, the control system provides a means to stop the rim drive and even downstream processes if desired, when an end of strip or wire condition is detected.

Options include:

Alarms, either a light or bell to alert operators to specific conditions.

Hardened Rollers for extended service life in severe applications.
