Pattern Generator Boards produce differential signals.

Press Release Summary:

Available in 4 models, Digital Pattern Generator boards for PC's feature up to 32 Gigabit memory, maximum clock rates of 40, 10, or 5 MHz, and choice of 16- or 32-bit widths. They generate ECL, PECL, TTL, LVDS, LVTTL, CMOS, or LVCMOS signal. Each 4-bit nibble can be programmed with different high and low output level from -2 to +10 V in 10 mV increments. Output rate of signals can be programmed from dc to 40 MHz and each channel can drive max current of 100 mA (max 200 mA per nibble).

Strategic Test Releases Ultrafast Digital Pattern Generator PCI Boards with up to 32 Gigabit On-Board Memory

Boards Generate ECL, PECL, TTL, LVDS, LVTTL, CMOS or LVCMOS Signal

Woburn, USA - May 17, 2007. Strategic Test has released four new Digital Pattern Generator boards for PC's with up to 32 Gigabit memory, maximum clock rates of 40 MHz, 10 MHz or 5 MHz, and a choice of 16- or 32-bit widths.

Uniquely, each 4-bit (nibble) can be programmed with a different HIGH and LOW output level from -2 V to +10 V in 10 mV increments. This output range can generate signals compatible with ECL, PECL, TTL, LVDS, LVTTL, CMOS and LVCMOS. Compared to traditional instruments, the UF2-7200 series is less expensive, easier to use and eliminates the need for multiple instruments to produce different signal levels.

The signal data can be generated from card memory, continuously looping until stopped by the user or streamed continuously from the host PC at rates to 225 MBytes per second when very long signals are required.

The output rate of the signals can be programmed from DC to 40 MHz. Each channel can drive a maximum current of 100 mA (maximum 200 mA per nibble). Differential signals such as ECL and LVDS are generated in the on-board hardware. This has the advantage that only one data-bit is used for each pair of differential signals so that less on-board memory is used.

Software drivers for Windows Vista, XP64, XP, 2000, NT, ME, 98 and Linux are supplied, while drivers for MATLAB, LabVIEW, VEE and DASYLab are available as options.

The prices are as follows:

o UF2-7210 10 MHz on 16-bits, 512 Mbit memory, $3490

o UF2-7211 10 MHz on 16-bits or 5 MHz on 32 Bits, 512 Mbit memory, $4290

o UF2-7220 40 MHz on 16-bits, 512 Mbit memory, $4390

o UF2-7221 40 MHz on 32-bits, 512 Mbit memory, $5590

All UltraFast cards are supplied with free drivers for Windows and Linux, the SBench measurement and signal generation program, source code programming examples in Visual Basic, C/C++ and Delphi; two years hardware warranty and lifetime software updates including future Windows and Linux drivers. Technical support is provided at no cost for the product lifetime.

About Strategic Test

With a product range of more than 150 high-speed Oscilloscope/ Digitizer, Arbitrary Waveform Generator and high-speed Digital I/O PCI, 3U PXI and 6U CompactPCI cards, Strategic Test Corporation is one of the leading suppliers of high-speed PC-based instruments. The UltraFast cards are designed at the R&D facility in northern Germany and distributed through our offices in Woburn (MA) and Stockholm (Sweden).

The first high-speed measurement card for PC's was designed in 1989. The UF2 series based on the PCI-X 66 MHz/32-bit PCI bus is the forth generation and sets new standards in onboard memory size, data transfer rates and user flexibility. Strategic Test's clients include global electronics, semiconductor, defense, telecommunications and medical instrument companies, government funded research labs and universities in five continents.
