Atlona Announces Release of Passive Composite Extenders

Alona's new extenders are designed to transfer full motion video up to 400 meter for color, and 600 meters black and white, with out the need for bulky power adapters. The basic versions of these passive extenders are available in two models; one with a small form factor for video only, the other is a slightly larger model capable of transferring analog audio. The smaller of the two models, the AT-VBNC400SR, is designed as an adapter, which fits on the end of a CAT 5 cable. The adapter has a BNC type connector and at a mere 2.7 inches fill fit on most cameras and security system components. The larger of the two models, the AT-AV400U's, are rugged units with mounting flares. This mode transfers full motion video as well as analog audio.

For more complex applications, Atlona has a rack mountable solution, the AT-AV-19S, with 1 input and 9 outputs that works in concert with the AT-AV400U. This larger hub unit is designed to route analog audio and full motion video out to multiple locations without the need to have multiple extenders. These new models are economical solutions for any situation when a long run of composite or CC video is needed. For applications that require Component, Atlona has release the AT-COMP300SR. Similar to the AT-AV400U, this new Component extender requires no power adapters. The units are designed to extend color video up to 300 meters, and are capable of transferring HDTV resolutions up to 1080p. The AT-COMP300SR can also transfer digital audio from digital coaxial (S/PDIF) or digital optical (TOSLink).

All of the units are economical solutions that can keep project requiring long runs of analog full motion video under budget. These units are priced at for the AT-VBNC400SR, for the AT-AV400U, for the AT-AV-19S, and for the AT-COMP300SR. These units are expected to start shipping in late June.
