Passive Distribution Module aids in-field safety switch wiring.

Press Release Summary:

Supplied in IP67 plastic housing, passive distribution module accelerates straightforward series wiring of safety switches in field. Up to 4 products from CES-AR, CET-AR, and ESL-AR series can be connected per distributor, and modules can be connected in series to increase number of safety switches. Decentralized wiring benefits modular machine concepts as well as space-restricted control cabinets, and use of standardized cables with M12 plugs facilitates connection of safety switches.

Safety Switches - Decentralized Wiring in the Field - The New Passive Distribution Module

The new passive distribution module from EUCHNER allows a quick and straightforward series wiring of safety switches in the field. Up to 4 products from the CES-AR, CET-AR and ESL-AR series can be connected per distributor. The decentralized wiring is of particular advantage for modular machine concepts or if there is little space in the control cabinet. In addition, the installation effort can be reduced to a minimum by using a passive distribution module.

Thanks to the use of standardized cables with M12 plugs, the safety switches can be connected very easy. A specific connection sequence does not need to be followed. Unused ports are simply fitted with bridging plugs.

The safety and status signals are collected together directly in the field and then forwarded centrally to an evaluation unit (e.g. control system). The related door monitoring signals are available at the passive distribution module and are also displayed for each port using an LED. Several distribution modules can be connected in series to increase the number of safety switches.

Thanks to the compact, robust plastic housing with degree of protection IP67 the passive distribution module is ideal for space-saving and universal usage in the field.
