Parrot Launches Two New Wireless Audio Innovations: Parrot PARTY Speaker and Parrot PMK5800 Car Kit

NEW YORK, June 27 / / - Parrot, a leader in wireless peripherals around the mobile phone, today announced the launch of two new products in the U.S.: the Parrot PARTY, a wireless portable stereo speaker, and the Parrot PMK5800, a new FM-based plug-and-play car kit with audio streaming. Both offer the convenience of being able to play music streamed from a Bluetooth A2DP-enabled cell phone or MP3 player for ultimate wireless freedom.

"With nearly one-third of U.S. cell phones sold in the fourth quarter of 2006 being music-enabled, Parrot is blazing a trail for Bluetooth audio streaming products," says Ed Valdez, president, Parrot, Inc., the company's North America subsidiary. "Parrot now has six Bluetooth stereo products, which give fun and freedom to mobile music users in the car, home, or office."

It's Party Time!

Parrot's newest stereo product, the Parrot PARTY, is a light and compact mobile wireless stereo speaker. Weighing only 21 ounces -- including its rechargeable 4-hour battery -- and measuring only nine inches in length, it fits into a backpack, purse or briefcase for easy travel so you can enjoy your favorite tracks while driving to the beach, hanging out with friends, or in the comfort of your home, cable-free.

Despite its small size, the Parrot PARTY packs a powerful sound with a 2x6-watt (maximum output) Class D-amplifier and two wide-band speakers. And the Parrot PARTY utilizes two proprietary technologies to enhance sound quality: Stereo Widening, for room-filling stereophony; and Virtual SuperBass that strengthens the bass response so that you can actually feel the beat.

The Parrot PARTY is easy to use. In one click, send your favorite tracks from any Bluetooth stereo music source such as a mobile phone, MP3-player or PC to the Parrot PARTY. If the source device does not support the Bluetooth A2DP profile, you can still play your music wirelessly by using a Bluetooth 2.0 USB Parrot dongle or an audio dongle, or through the more traditional method by plugging your music source (CD player, etc.) into the auxiliary line-in jack.

The Parrot PARTY will be available in the U.S. in the third quarter from The Sharper Image and other retailers and online at www.parrotshopping.com/ for an MSRP of $169.99.

Car to Car Portability

You can also enjoy your favorite songs in your car and play them over your vehicle's sound system with the new Parrot PMK5800 hands-free plug-and-play music kit. It plugs into any vehicle 12-volt accessory outlet and uses a free FM radio frequency to transfer both voice and music directly to your car speakers.

The secret of the Parrot PMK5800 Bluetooth stereo car kit is its embedded FM emitter. Simply select a free radio frequency on your car stereo, match it to the one displayed on the Parrot PMK5800 screen, and enjoy clear and full-duplex conversations directly on your car speakers via your car radio. If you are listening to the radio or a CD and want to answer an incoming call, just press the selected FM preset, and the Parrot PMK5800 automatically detects you have changed the frequency and connects you to the caller.

Parrot has integrated its best-in-class technologies usually reserved to installed car-kits: advanced digital signal processing (DSP), echo cancellation software, and voice recognition in the Parrot PMK5800. With its special noise-reduction software, the Parrot PMK5800 omni-dimensional microphone picks up your voice while eliminating surrounding noises, such as sirens or road work, for near-perfect voice pick-up.

The Parrot PMK5800's user-friendly interface sports a dual side LED screen and an adjustable base to fit any 12-volt accessory outlet. And like all Parrot car kits, the Parrot PMK5800 is compatible with virtually all Bluetooth mobile phones on the market. Plus, since the car-kit plugs into your 12V outlet, there is no costly installation and it can be easily moved from car-to-car for travel.

The Parrot PMK5800 will be available in the U.S. in the third quarter through retailers and online at www.parrotshopping.com/ for an MSRP of $129.99.

About Parrot

Founded in 1994, Parrot has rapidly established itself as a pivotal global player for wireless mobile telephone accessories. Drawing on its tried-and-tested expertise on voice recognition and signal processing technologies, Parrot was one of the very first companies to produce Bluetooth(R)-based wireless hands free car kits, having identified this standard's vast potential as early as 1999. In 2006, Parrot sold more than 3 million products.

Determined to accompany the wireless peripherals' irresistible breakthrough into our day-to-day lives, Parrot has been developing since 2006 a new wireless range of sound and image products.

Today, Parrot truly has a major international focus: 90.5% of its sales are generated outside of France, and a large percentage of its production is outsourced to carefully selected partners, enabling it to achieve the best possible level of quality and responsiveness. Parrot is now particularly well positioned to capitalize on the bright future opening up for mobile telephone devices.

Parrot has achieved strong growth in its consolidated revenues, up from 80.9 million euros pro forma in 2005 to 166.9 million euros in 2006.
