Paramagnetic Oxygen Transmitter provides oxidation control.

Press Release Summary:

Series 2200 includes control unit, EX control unit, and oxygen transmitter. Control unit works with 1 to 6 oxygen transmitters, and is certified for use in hazardous areas. Digital communications are enabled with Modbus protocol provided. EX control unit has above features but is also certified for EX hazardous areas. Transmitter provides intrinsically safe, linear, 4 to 20 mA analog output and accepts up to 2 intrinsically safe analog inputs.

Original Press Release:

New, Paramagnetic Oxygen Transmitter for Oxidation Control in Process Industries

Servomex introduces the 2200 series a new Paramagnetic oxygen transmitter specifically designed for high performance measurements in the hydrocarbon processing, chemical, and industrial gas industries. The 2200 series will feature the following elements:

- Control Unit
- EX Control Unit
- Oxygen Transmitter

The control unit is designed to work with from one to six oxygen transmitters, with the maximum separation between the control unit and a single transmitter being 1000M. The easy to use
graphical user interface is available in multi-language capability, with English, French, and German as standard initially. The control unit is certified for use in hazardous areas in the presence of flammable dusts and gases and a simple intrinsically safe 2-wire digital connection provides ease of
installation. Digital communications are 'enabled' with 'Modbus' protocol provided as standard.

The hazardous approvals for the control unit include ATEX Category 3 and CENELEC Zone 2, with approvals for USA (Class 1 Div 2) and Canada (Class 1 Div 2) pending. The control unit provides full access to auto-calibration, alarms, relays and fault functions and is compliant with the requirements of NAMUR. Display output resolution is 0.001% oxygen and up to four option cards may be fitted to provide mA outputs, relays, and digital inputs. The control unit complies with EC directives and carries the CE mark.

The EX control unit has all of the above features but is also certified for EX hazardous areas with the presence of flammable dusts and gases. Hazardous Area approvals will include ATEX Category 2 and CENELEC Zone 1, with approvals for USA (Class 1 Div 1), Canada (Class 1 Div 1) and Japan (Zone 1) pending.

The oxygen transmitter is specifically designed for high performance measurements in on-line process applications including the production of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, ethylene dichloride, and vinyl acetate monomer acid. Servomex can provide sample conditioning systems for each of these applications.

The transmitter uses Servomex's field proven paramagnetic oxygen measurement techniques and design emphasis has been placed upon achievement of the highest accuracy, reliability, stability, and
repeatability, while meeting the increasing need for lower cost of ownership and ease of operation and maintenance. Each oxygen transmitter can operate independently of the 2200 Control Units.

The transmitter provides an intrinsically safe, linear, 0/4-20mA analog output as standard and accepts up to two intrinsically safe analog inputs for pressure compensation and background gas
cross-interference correction, plus an additional two intrinsically safe NAMUR flow sensor inputs. Four assignable digital inputs allow the user to provide manual calibration and validation of 4-20mA outputs. A high-pressure version of the oxygen transmitter is available for inlet pressure up to 30psig
with maximum oxygen concentration of 21%. Internal pressure compensation is an option.
