NORD Gear's New Increased Capacity Clincher(TM) Parallel Shaft-Mount Gearboxes Raise Output Torque By Up To 41%
Waunakee, WI - NORD Gear Corporation announces the release of a NEW Increased Capacity Series of Clincher(TM) Parallel Shaft-Mount Gearboxes. This redesigned series offers the exceptional performance of NORD's current Clincher(TM) product line, while offering a significant torque increase - in some cases, by up to 41%. This increase in capacity has been achieved by utilizing higher-grade materials and by specifying roller bearings with a higher load capacity. There are no gear ratio or dimensional changes; therefore, engineering revisions by the customer are not required in order to use these increased capacity units.
Increased Capacity Clincher(TM) Parallel Shaft-Mount Gearboxes - from models SK 1282 through SK 5382 - are available in 5 case sizes. All sizes are offered by NORD as double-reduction to quintuple-reduction drives, and are available with either a solid or hollow output shaft. Mounting flexibility is achieved through optional accessories that enable the units to be foot mounted. They all operate at up to 97% efficiency and offer a torque up to 28,320 lb-in. Power ranges from .16 to 30 HP; output speeds from 1 to 409 rpm; and gear ratios range from 4.03:1 to 6616.79:1. Hollow shaft Clincher(TM) reducers can be mounted directly onto the head shaft of a conveyor or a jack shaft of a travel drive, and due to their heavy-duty output bearings they are ideal for vertical mixer applications.
These Increased Capacity Clincher(TM) Parallel Shaft-Mount Gearboxes continue to utilize all standard NORD design and construction advantages, which do include:
-A UNICASE(TM) one-piece housing that eliminates oil contamination or leakage and gear alignment problems common to drives with split casings or bolt-on covers - prolonging both gear and bearing life,
- Low noise, low maintenance, high durability gearing designed up to AGMA CLASS 13 standards,
- A Quadrilip(TM) oil sealing system that prevents leaking and protects inner seal-lip from external damage,
- Autovent sealing that keeps gearbox oil cleaner and extends lubrication life,
- A standard NORD protective finish that is not exactly a paint, but a resin coating mixed with 316 stainless steel - offering 40% greater impact resistance.
