Robohand's New DPL Series Grippers Combine Long Strokes With High Grip Force for Machining Applications
Chicago, Ill., Sept. 8, 2004 -- Robohand (Monroe, Conn.), a DE-STA-CO Industries company, is introducing its new DPL DirectConnect(TM) parallel gripper series at IMTS 2004 in booth E-2727. The new DPL series is designed for use in confined spaces, combining long strokes with high grip force enabled by two simultaneously double-acting pistons. The jaws are supported throughout the length of the gripper body making the new series well suited for long finger applications.
The new DPL series comes in six styles with strokes ranging from 1.57 to 5.51 in. and a grip force of 161 to 403 lbs. at 100 psi. The body is hard-coat anodized with Teflon(TM) impregnation. The shielded design protects the internal drive mechanism from chips and other particulates, which makes the DPL a good choice for harsh environment applications.
Featuring Robohand's unique DirectConnect(TM) technology, these grippers eliminate the need for adapter plates by connecting directly to other DirectConnect components to reduce weight and cost. In addition, the DPL series comes with a wide range of options and accessories including a spring option, in-line jaws, magneto resistive or inductive sensors, allowing them to adapt to a number of applications. The gripper can be mounted and operated in any orientation.
"Continuous innovation of new products is a key objective at Robohand and the DPL series represents our continued investment in new product development to respond to our customers' needs," says Kel Landers, vice president of Sales and Marketing, DE-STA-CO Industries.
