Robohand Introduces New Gripper for Modular Automation - The DPG - DirectConnect(TM) Parallel Gripper



December 16, 2002 - Robohand, Inc., located in Monroe, Conn., introduces the new DirectConnect(TM) Parallel Gripper (DPG), a gib-style gripper with many new features.

As part of the Robohand's DirectConnect(TM) system, the one-piece DPG body can be mounted to Robohand linear slides on its top or side - without the use of adapter plates. It is designed with finger mounting surfaces on the sides and bottom of jaws. Tapped air ports on the front and both sides are standard. Top air ports with counterbores for o-ring manifold operation and threads for screw-in type fittings are available. Additionally, there are accessory mounting slots for Hall Effect and Inductive sensors.

The DPG exerts 50 lbs of grip force, and can be fitted with fingers up to four inches long. Available in four stroke lengths (.25 in., .50 in., .75 in., and 1.00 in.), the gripper also offers single jaw motion with fixed jaw.
