Appleton Electrical Panelboards Designed For Explosionproof & NEMA 4X Applications

ROSEMONT, IL, OCTOBER 19, 2005 Appleton, a world leader in the manufacturer of electrical products for hazardous and standard locations, introduces the ALPN, a versatile distribution panelboard designed to serve as a centrally controlled switching system for the large numbers of branch circuits used in lighting, heating, motors and other industrial equipment.

The ALPN Distribution Panelboard is engineered to meet increasingly stringent NEC requirements for Class I, Div. 1 and 2 hazardous locations, such as oil refineries, chemical factories and fuel storage facilities, as well as the need for increased productivity through assured maximum uptime.

Not only is the panelboard UL Listed as explosionproof, it also is dust-ignition proof, and is rated watertight (NEMA 4X) thanks to its neoprene O-ring gasket and a gray epoxy powder coat finish for long-lasting corrosion-resistance, making it ideal for areas subject to ice, dust, rain, snow, and hose-directed water.

Key features include:
o Copper-free aluminum bodies and covers with precision-machined flame paths
o Quality breaker operators that are included standard, along with copper bus bars and Quad-Lead stainless steel cover bolts
o Optional 1, 2 or3 pole breakers
o Cutler-Hammer interiors.

Appleton allows a multitude of design options for the ALPN. Provisions are provided for 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 and 42 circuit single pole chassis, a 100 Amp or 225A main lug, and factory-installed breathers, drains, 5ma or 30ma Ground Fault Interrupters, GFI indicating lights and phenolic nameplates.
