IEI Launches the SAILOR-12A 12.1 inch Full IP67 Sunlight Readable Panel PC
IEI Technology Corp., leading industrial PC provider, proudly announces the full IP67 waterproof SAILOR-12A panel PC and sunlight readable SAILOR-12ASR. The rugged waterproof aluminum housing and LCD touch panel make the SAILOR-12A the ultimate choice for meeting the high demands of all-day field use in mission critical applications in marine, avionics, military, mining, engineering and industrial settings.
The SAILOR-12A features a fanless, low voltage 1.6 MHz Intel® Atom(TM) processor with up to 2.0 GB of 533 MHz DDR2 memory. A rugged die-cast aluminum enclosure helps to dissipate heat thereby reducing overheating and eliminating the need for a fan. The high speed 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi module and internal antenna provide broadband-speed browsing and uninterrupted wireless connectivity. A 2.5" SATA HDD bay and Compact Flash® II slot offer a choice of storage options. IEI offers flexible OS options including Windows CE 6.0, Windows XP Embedded, and Linux.
Dust, water, and other corrosive materials can be very destructive over time. The fully sealed IP67 and NEMA6 compliant aluminum chassis and LCD touch panel of the SAILOR-12A are designed for high reliability, shock and vibration tolerance, use under an extreme range of temperatures and in harsh environments. IEI strictly adheres to UL Test Data Program (TDP), IP67, and NEMA6 standard testing procedures. IP67/NEMA6 compliance ensures full waterproof protection including the aluminum housing, touch panel, connectors and optional cables.
The SAILOR-12A uses economical self-locking, threaded M12 connectors for LAN, RS-232, RS-232/422/385, CAN bus and audio, (2) USB and 9~28V DC power adaptor connections. The SAILOR-12A is equipped with an automotive applied CAN-Bus interface. The Control Area Network (CAN) is a serial bus system originally developed by Bosch for use in automobiles now increasingly being used for control in industrial and automotive applications.
The standard SAILOR-12A includes a 12.1 inch TFT LCD touch panel with 400 cd/m2 of brightness. A built-in ambient light sensor automatically detects the amount of light and adjusts the brightness of the screen to save system power and reduce user eye strain. The SAILOR-12ASR adds Anti-Reflection (AR) technology and improved luminance through edge lighting to achieve super high brightness (up to 1000 cd/m2) and higher contrast (700:1) ensuring excellent visibility in bright daylight or marine conditions.
