Original Press Release:
New TRUMPF Panel Cutter TPC 150-2 for Roofing, Siding, and Steel Construction Applications
FARMINGTON, Conn., April 11, 2003 - TRUMPF introduces a new portable power tool, the TPC 150-2 panel cutter, for applications in roofing, siding, and steel construction. The TPC 150-2 can cut sandwich panels up to 6 inches thick in a single cut and without flipping of the sheet. The panel cutter makes burr-free, high precision cuts. Operators no longer have to drill starter holes or refinish the completed cut edge. A new cutting method makes it easy for an operator to make external and internal cuts. Two-handed operation and a large tool support guarantee stable and precise operation. The cutting tool is also well-suited for easy processing of trapezoidal panels. The cutting process can be operated via a conveniently-located switch. Handles are located in line with the cut line and a guide rail is available to ensure that that all cuts are straight and cutting is fatigue-free. The design of the TPC 150-2's motor position allows the operator to reach areas that seem inaccessible. Blade position is precisely marked thus reducing the risk of collision with structural support pieces. The lever handle ensures that the plunge cut is smooth and easy. A connection for a conventional vacuum cleaner is a standard feature of the machine and also guarantees that the work environment remains clean. The integrated chain lubrication function ensures long chain life. Metal covers have been placed over the chain and cutter to protect the operator. A chip brush also prevents metal chips from flying out during operation, thus enhancing operator safety. With an output of 1,400 watts, the Panel Cutter TPC 150-2 reaches working speeds of up to 98 inches per minute, and it is available in two different lengths (3 inches and 6 inches). The entire machine weighs just 23 pounds, not including the cable.
