The New Salvagnini P4 3216ABT® Panel Bender Expands Application Potential


HAMILTON, OH (February 12, 2004) - The new Salvagnini P4 3216ABT® panel bender, introduced during the October, 2003 Emo show in Milan, Italy, is now available for worldwide shipment. Responding directly to customer requests for increased maximum sheet thickness and bend height capacities, the new P4 can be used on many applications that previously could only be formed on a press brake. That means the benefits of lean manufacturing - instant flexibility, high production and unmanned operation are now available to a new universe of sheet metal fabricators.

The spectrum of products that can be manufactured on the highly efficient Salvagnini panel bender has been dramatically expanded. The new P4 3216ABT (which replaces the earlier P4 3212) can work with incoming sheets up to 137" long, and produce finished parts that are .120" thick, 125" long, with 6.50" of flange height. Like its predecessor, the P4 3216ABT is ideal for fast, flexible, and lean panel bending. The new system can also integrate universal tooling, easy to use production software, and automated material handling into a single unit that delivers the ultimate in lean manufacturing.

The newest P4 is also fitted with an electronic pump that is only called into use when service demands require it, thereby reducing energy consumption - and energy costs - by as much as 60%.

The new P4 3216ABT comes complete with Salvagnini's exclusive Advanced Bending Technology. This remarkable set of automated procedures directs all bending activities, monitors environmental and material changes, and makes necessary machine adjustments to maintain accuracy and consistency.
