Press Release Summary:
Robotic palletizing system allows manufacturers to stack loose-filled bags in overlapping patterns to enhance load stability while maintaining little or no product overhang on pallet. Using uniquely designed end effector, system can shift product to end of bag to allow opposite, floppy end to be overlapped during stacking, which prevents loads from crowning in center. Unit enables palletized loads of bagged product to be double and triple stacked.

Columbia/Okura Palletizing System Overlaps Bags for Increased Stability and Bags-Per-Pallet
A special robotic palletizing system from Columbia/Okura allows manufacturers to stack loose-filled bags in overlapping patterns to enhance load stability, while maintaining little or no product overhang on the pallet.
Working with a specially designed end effector, the robotic palletizer can shift the product to one end of the bag, allowing the opposite "floppy" end to be overlapped during stacking. In addition to increasing load stability the overlapping prevents loads from crowning in the center. The result is that palletized loads of bagged product can be double and triple stacked for more effective use of warehouse space.
Columbia/Okura LLC is jointly owned by Columbia Machine and Japan's Okura Yusoki, two companies with over 100 years of combined material-handling experience. Customer service and parts support is located in the USA.
