Original Press Release:

Hyster Company Provides Durable B60Z and B80Z Walkie/Rider Pallet Trucks with Enhanced Ergonomics

(Greenville, N. C.) - Hyster Company announces the availability of the B60Z and 80Z Walkie/Rider pallet truck series for use in low-level order-picking, cold storage and freezer applications, and product transport industries such as food distribution centers. The series' Separately Excited Motor (SEM) technology is rugged, energy efficient and easily serviced due to an integrated traction and hydraulic transistor controller. This tough truck doesn't shortchange operator comfort, however - numerous ergonomic elements optimize intuitive movements and enhance operator control. The result is increased productivity, reliability and lower cost to maintain.

The B60Z and B80Z Walkie/Riders have a 6,000 and 8,000 pound lift capacity. Fork lengths range from 48 to 144 inches for load handling flexibility. The high-strength steel frame and box-rail construction provide unmatched strength and durability. The B60Z and B80Z series' SEM controller directly accelerates or decelerates the traction motor, increasing motor brush life through regenerative braking. The SEM controller also generates a greater torque range for faster travel speeds and permits programmability through transistor controls. A sensing feature in the transistor hydraulics' solid state control allows the B60Z and B80Z series to work smarter, providing end-of-stroke sensing that automatically shuts the motor down when the load has reached full lift height to lengthen its pump life.

Designed to minimize hand movements, the B60Z and B80Z series' steady-rest grab-rail with auxiliary controls features molded urethane padding to reduce fatigue on long runs, keeping your operators more alert and more productive. The angled handgrips and contoured head protect fingers and knuckles, and raised lift/lower buttons put truck controls at the operators' fingertips.

All functions can be executed with either hand, and the handle's direction-reversing switch wraps around the end, making it usable throughout the full pivot range. The series also features a larger operator platform for maximum comfort.

Box-rail construction makes the B60Z and BS0Z Walkie/Riders more durable, and a string guard minimizes the risk of damage to the drive axle seal. An adjustable two-piece heavy-duty pull rod assembly with replaceable threaded ends allows for compensation as load wheels wear. Knock-out axles simplify wheel replacement, and spring-loaded casters under the front chassis increase stability when cornering with uneven loads.

All gears in the integrated motor drive are bathed in oil inside the drive unit, significantly reducing maintenance. The non-rotating drive motor has no flexing cables, and adjusted threaded rods protect against breakage of lift linkage, contributing to longer life and decreased downtime due to service.
