Original Press Release:

Automatic Speedfill System SP-2000 Makes Economical Void-Fill Pads Using Recycled Kraft Paper For Low Cost Packaging

Applications: Any manufacturer of products that require protective packaging or void fill for shipping and transport

Ideal for shippers of products that require bracing and protection, the new SP-2000 packaging system from Proline Packaging Equipment automatically dispenses 100% recycled Kraft paper at a rapid rate, crumpling the 30"-wide paper into a 6" pad that is perfect for shipping needs. Designed for versatility and use in demanding manufacturing and shipping environments, these Speedfill (TM) void-fill production machines offer an economical alternative to packagers and shippers as they do not require specialty paper supplies. Low-cost recycled Kraft paper in one or two plys is used by the SP-2000; a 30" wide 900 foot roll produces 110 cubic feet of fill packaging volume. The new automatic SP-2000 and the semi-automatic SP-1000 are featured at PackExpo International Booth N-5048 in Chicago, November 3-7, 2002.

The SP-2000 and its advanced digital controls will optimize shipping room productivity. This fully-automatic Speedfill machine is operated by a foot pedal, allowing the operator to keep his hands free to work on the packaging task. The touch screen on Proline's SP-2000 permits automatic operations and timing due to the large amount of pre-set programming supplied as part of the Speedfill system. Replacement paper is easy to load.

All void-fill production machines in the Speedfill(TM) family of equipment from Proline Packaging are designed for operator comfort and excellent ergonomics, with both variable height adjustment and variable pad delivery angle. The hardened titanium cutter is secured by an optical sensor and controlled by the food pedal.

Each Speedfill machine features variable operation and speeds that allow operators to use a variety of filling techniques, thus wrapping objects at optimum speeds. The 6-inch pads produced by the automatic SP-2000 and the semi-automatic SP-1000 provide excellent shipping security at minimum cost, enabling such fill-packaging methods as high speed top fill, block and brace, S-shape, fold-over, criss-cross, and coil. Safety features include a readily-accessible emergency stop button, a coded magnetic cut-off switch on the cover assembly, and an output flap with a safety limit cut-off proximity assembly.

Proline Packaging Equipment is headquartered in Montreal, Canada. The company's Speedfill range of void fill packaging production equipment is designed to increase use of cost-effective and environmentally-friendly recycled packaging material. The company's SP-1000 and SP-2000 systems are made of the best components available. Proline builds high quality machines designed for the rigorous needs of the packaging and shipping industry.
