Original Press Release:

New Autobag® Military Spec Packaging Film

STREETSBORO, OH - October 31, 2006 - Automated Packaging Systems, the leader in high-reliability packaging systems, has introduced new MLT1 and MLT2 heat-sealable packaging films that conform to military specification MIL-DTL-117H as Type II, Class C, Styles 1 or 2 and MIL-PRF-121G, Type 1. These nine-layer, coextruded films have excellent barrier properties, are extremely strong, and are ideal for waterproof and greaseproof applications. The Moisture Vapor Transfer Rate (MVTR) and Oxygen Transfer Rate (OTR) of these films are very low.

The MLT1 film is opaque and MLT2 film is clear. Both materials are 4 mils thick and support printing and imprinting directly on the bag. A built-in sealant layer facilitates high quality seals on Autobag packaging systems. This new film makes for excellent packaging of bearings, seals and O-rings in rugged military applications. Both films are available as Autobag bag-on-a-roll materials in a wide range of sizes.

"The new MLT1 and MLT2 bag-on-a-roll films are designed for Autobag machinery with typical throughput and productivity improvements of up to 40 percent over traditional kraft bag packaging processes," said Tim Groff, Director of Marketing for Automated Packaging Systems.
