Pflow Industries Introduces New CVC Package Handling System

Milwaukee, WI. Pflow Industries is currently introducing the new PFLOW CVC - a totally new concept in continuous vertical conveying systems. PFLOW CVC features a patent pending steel-reinforced, polyurethane belt design and special modular carriers for quiet, continuous conveyance of totes or small packages.

CVC is a self-supporting, high-speed package handling system that provides automatic, nonstop transportation to or from balconies and mezzanines, and up over aisles or machinery. CVC provides up, down or reversible transport with continuous throughput up to 1800 loads per hour (depending on load size).

According to Ted Ruehl, president of Pflow Industries, the CVC represents a significant change in the design and operation of continuous vertical conveyors. "After 25 years in the industry, we know the safety, maintenance and operational limitations of existing continuous vertical conveyor designs," said Ruehl. "We believe the PFLOW CVC eliminates these limitations."

The PFLOW CVC does not require adjustments, lubrication and regular maintenance that result from roller chain driven continuous conveyors. Roller chains require lubrication, need regular adjustment and are typically noisy. The PFLOW CVC requires only periodic bearing lubrication and features quiet operation - less than 65 decibels. Additionally, PFLOW CVC belt and carrier components are readily available from local suppliers.

PFLOW CVC features an articulated platform that remains rigid while carrying a load but is flexible in return travel over the sprockets, allowing continuous smooth movement. CVC is factory-assembled, tested and pre-wired for easy installation, and designed for simple maintenance. Built-in safety features include full-height enclosures and photocell product-overload sensors that shut down the lift if a package is fed in too far. Scoop guard prevents injury to the operator, and a torque limiter prevents jam-ups.

Pflow Industries provides turnkey service and complete support for CVC. The company will design a continuous system to fit specific application requirements, perform start-up and
provide complete follow-through service.
