Pacific Internet Limited Helps Enterprises Enhance Security and Performance with New Regional Solutions - Global Security-In-The-Cloud and Global Internet VPN Services

SINGAPORE, April 30 - Pacific Internet Limited (NASDAQ:PCNTF), Asia Pacific's largest telco-independent Internet Communications Service Provider by geographic reach, today announced the launch of two new value-added services: Global Security-in-the-Cloud and Global Internet Virtual Private Network (VPN). Global Security-in-the-Cloud offers a hosted solution to meet enterprises' needs for cost-effective enhanced network security as they expand their businesses. Global Internet Virtual Private Network (VPN) service is offered as a solution to improve companies' regional connectivity as a VPN on public networks or as a back-up network to their existing private Wide Area Network (WAN).

Commenting on the launch of the new services, Mr Steven Ng, Senior Vice President, Regional Business Group & Group Product Development, Pacific Internet Limited, said, "Network firewalls deter unsolicited traffic from the public Internet from entering enterprises' private networks. Yet most companies are constrained by budget limitations, which means that they have to struggle to keep up with increasingly sophisticated virus attacks on their networks. We have responded by offering PacNet Global Security-in-the-Cloud and Global Internet VPN Services; services that allow enterprises to not only protect the security of their expanding networks to the highest levels, but affordably and with the least hassles."

PacNet Global Security-in-the-Cloud service comprises a comprehensive hosted firewall solution that meets enterprises' many security needs. This is a cost-effective and easy-to-manage solution when compared to traditional Customer Premise Equipment (CPE)-based solutions, where hefty maintenance costs on equipment and security software updates are incurred by enterprises. PacNet's Global Security-in-the-Cloud solution enables enterprises to outsource their security management function to PacNet, together with the management of their private WAN and Internet access requirements, and yet enjoy peace-of-mind.

PacNet's new Global Internet VPN service allows customers to establish a reliable and high-speed VPN connection over the public Internet. The service's unique value proposition to enterprises is that the VPN connections are delivered through an Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) tunnel over PacNet's own robust IP backbone infrastructure, which spans eight countries across the Asia Pacific region. As the service is delivered over PacNet's own infrastructure, it is a premium service as compared to the offerings from most service providers. The security feature is enhanced to the highest levels possible and PacNet provides a standard Service Level Agreement (SLA) on latency for the service. This service can also be set up as a cost effective back-up network to provide fail-safe support to WANs running mission critical applications.

Mr Ng added, "Network security and integrity remains an important priority for any business that need to adopt critical security solutions, but have to deal with factors such as high costs and the complexity of implementation. PacNet's new security solutions balance these factors together with real value from our suite of regional solutions, such as Global MPLS VPN, Internet Access and other connectivity solutions offered through our private and partner global networks"

Mr Phey Teck Moh, President and Chief Executive Officer, Pacific Internet Limited, said, "Increasingly, enterprises are demanding more from their solution providers. PacNet is committed to delivering value to customers through real value-added IP-based solutions. We work closely with them to revisit business models and deliver effective solutions. Managed network security solutions such as PacNet's Global Security-in-the-Cloud and Global Internet VPN services are good examples of our commitment to helping our customers grow their businesses beyond their home markets. Our customers receive enterprise-grade security but delivered in a way where they only pay for usage, with no need to worry about complexity."

In the PacNet IP Index Singapore 2006, a study commissioned by Pacific Internet Limited to track IP solutions trends in enterprise markets in the Asia-Pacific region, customers indicated that services that enabled them to securely expand their operations through IP technologies were very important to them. With PacNet's ability to deliver comprehensive IP-based services across multiple geographies, businesses have real alternatives to expensive infrastructure to leverage on IP to stay efficient and competitive.
